On Patrol: Live - Large-Scale IP Transmission

As the IP Video Engineer for the #1 cable show on weekend nights, my primary responsibility is managing the end-to-end transport of 48 concurrent live video streams. This involves overseeing a massive, multi-layered bonded cellular network that is unprecedented in scale for a live television broadcast.

Live Feed Management: I am responsible for the reliable delivery of 48 simultaneous live feeds from camera crews embedded with 9 different police departments across the country.

IP Video Pipeline: I manage the entire IP video pipeline, ensuring that all remote feeds are received, synchronized, and ready for the live broadcast from our Master Control Room (MCR) in New York.

Natural Selection Tour: Live from the Studio

From the broadcast mission control at Red Bull Studios, I serve as the Technical Manager for the live production. My responsibility is to take the raw, unpredictable feeds from the remote mountain and ensure they are transformed into a seamless, high-quality broadcast for a global audience.

Remote-to-Studio Pipeline: I manage the entire technical pipeline from signal acquisition in the studio to final delivery, coordinating the REMI workflow between the mountain and the control room.

Technical Oversight: I provide the final layer of technical oversight, troubleshooting any transmission issues and ensuring the integrity of the live program.

Global Citizen Festival 2023: Technical & Logistical Overview

Core Infrastructure: Managed a complex, mobile production compound headlined by AMV's "Eclipse" production truck. Its remote I/O capability was critical, allowing us to bridge a 3000-foot distance from the main fiber hut and field compound. The broadcast hub was further supported by the M3 Music truck, alongside dedicated satellite and edit trucks.

Camera Complement: Integrated a 16-camera complement—including long-lens, RF handheld, and robotic units—through the Eclipse's powerful routing and switching core to flawlessly capture the event's scale.

Multi-Platform Delivery: Simultaneously produced and delivered a primary 16:9 HD feed for the global broadcast and a separate 9:16 vertical cut for social media platforms like TikTok.

Complex Audio: Managed a massive audio operation by interfacing directly with the dedicated M3 Music truck, ensuring the complex mix from all musical acts, hosts, and packages was seamlessly integrated into the main broadcast feed.

The Tamron Hall Show: Return to Studio Production

As the lead technical producer for Season 2, my primary challenge was to guide the show's transition from a fully remote, at-home production back to a daily live broadcast from ABC's New York studios during the pandemic.

Hybrid Workflow: Managed a complex hybrid model that integrated a full studio crew with high-quality, ultra-low latency feeds for all celebrity guests, who remained remote.

Virtual Audience: Oversaw the technical integration of a "virtual audience" on large on-set video walls to maintain the show's energy without an in-person crowd.

Crowd Goes Wild: FS1 Network Launch

As the technical manager for the flagship show launching the Fox Sports 1 network, the core challenge was establishing a robust, reliable workflow from the ground up in a new studio at Chelsea Piers, separate from the main Fox Sports hub in LA.

Studio Build-Out: Collaborated on the technical outfitting and launch of the control room and studio, designed for a dynamic, five-host panel format.

Live Integration: Established the daily workflow for integrating live remote interviews, social media interactions, and complex graphical elements for a fast-paced, two-hour live broadcast.

Court Night Live: Multi-City REMI Production

As the Launch Technical Producer, I designed and executed the technical workflow for this ambitious live series. The primary challenge was integrating multiple, simultaneous live court proceedings from across the country into a single, cohesive broadcast.

REMI Workflow: Managed a Remote Integration Model (REMI) that brought 18 live camera feeds from three different cities (Philadelphia, Chicago, and a pop-up location) back to the A&E master control in New York.

Low-Latency Transmission: Utilized a bonded cellular network to ensure stable, low-latency video and audio transmission from all remote courtrooms.

Technical Scalability: Developed a scalable system that allowed producers to seamlessly switch between different cities and cases in real-time, creating a dynamic and engaging live viewing experience.

Vice News Tonight: From Tape to Live

My role as Launch Technical Manager was to oversee the pivotal transition of "Vice News Tonight" to a new network and a new format. We successfully transformed the show from its cinematic, pre-taped origins on HBO into a dynamic, live daily newscast.

New Broadcast Infrastructure: Established the complete technical foundation for the live show within Reuters Studios, managing everything from camera feeds to the final on-air signal.

Real-Time Production: Implemented the necessary workflows to support real-time news delivery, including rapid integration of field reports and breaking news graphics.

Tha God's Honest Truth: Series Debut

I managed the daily technical operations for the launch of Charlamagne tha God's anticipated late-night show. We successfully established a new production environment from the ground up to support the series' unique format for Comedy Central.

Control Room Management: Oversaw the control room execution during the critical launch phase, ensuring all live-to-tape elements were captured to network standards.

Post-Production Handoff: Created and managed the workflow for delivering all recorded elements to the post-production team for the final weekly edit.

Good Morning Football: Live Daily Broadcast

My role as Launch Technical Manager was to build and manage the daily technical operations for this ambitious 3-hour live show. We successfully created a dynamic and reliable production environment at the CBS Broadcast Center in NYC.

Live Show Execution: Managed the control room workflow, ensuring the seamless execution of all live segments, remote interviews, and video packages.

Road Show Production: Managed the technical execution of the show's major on-location broadcasts from the NFL Draft, Super Bowl, NFL Combine, and Hall of Fame. This involved a REMI workflow where the on-site hosts and multi-camera production were fed back to the main NFL Network studios, where the show was directed and integrated with live graphics and video packages.

Amy Schumer Learns to Cook: Hybrid At-Home Production

As the Technical Producer for this Emmy-nominated series, I executed a unique hybrid production model just two weeks into the pandemic. The primary challenge was creating a broadcast-quality show from a private residence on Martha's Vineyard with no on-site crew, all while navigating the area's extremely limited internet connectivity.

Remote Camera Operation: We installed and managed remotely operated robotic cameras, allowing us to capture high-quality footage without a traditional camera crew on-site.

Multi-Source Integration: I designed the workflow to seamlessly integrate the professional robotic camera feeds with the user-generated, "self-shot" footage from the nanny's camera, creating the show's authentic and intimate feel.

Rapid Deployment: This entire remote system was designed and deployed in under two weeks, setting a new standard for rapid, at-home production.

Hyundai Super Bowl Commercial: A Better Super Bowl

This groundbreaking live ad was the culmination of months of rigorous planning and testing. As the on-site Lead Technical Producer, my role was to ensure the flawless execution of the entire technical mission on game day.

System Design & Testing: I led the multi-month testing phase for the entire technical system, from the 360° cameras to the custom immersive pods and the inter-continental satellite uplink transmission, to guarantee a perfect connection between Houston and Poland.

Live Global Synchronization: On game day, I managed the Houston-based mission control, overseeing the satellite transmission and the integration of the 360° video that allowed the soldiers to experience the game as if they were there.

Real-Time Post-Production: I was the key technical liaison for the live editing team, ensuring all assets from both continents were delivered reliably to the post-production trailer for the unprecedented real-time creation of the 90-second commercial.
